Trailer transport a 396 or 406 Aft Cabin


Wondering how difficult is might be to take the arch and aft hardtop down so as to carry a 396 or 406 aft-cabin over the road. Anyone have experience with this? If the max allowed height from the road is 13 1/2 feet would the helm/dash be an issue? And yes, a low bed trailer would help. Boat weighs approx 27,000 lbs dry and is 40' long. A travel-lift for on/off the trailer seems pretty routine--its mostly the "dis-assembly" that concerns me. I will ask DOT if they could do a waivor on the height limit.
