Spring buffing/polishing

This is going to sound tacky, but I am getting older. I had my Mariner compounded last spring with Turbo Cut compound. Looks great! I applied Mequiars Premium wax. Here is where I'm going with this. Sitting in the warm storage bay, the hull still looks like a mirror. The guy that did the compounding mentioned he thought this was the first time it was ever compounded. Made a heck of a mess with grit all over the floor. I normally regard polishing as an annual requirement, but not sure I am going to get any value out of 10 hours of polishing. Does anyone else go multiple seasons after a compound/wax process? We did have a sunny, dry season last year. Thoughts? 8-) er
