Post Unleaded fuel 1984 PCM 351 engines
- Posted by: Justright » January 25th, 2022, 6:21 pm
- Forum: Gas Engines/Transmissions
Apologies if this has been addressed but my searches found nothing. I recently purchased a 1984 Riviera with twin Pleasure Craft Marine 351 Fords. Information plates on the valve covers indicate that leaded fuel is required. It has obviously been running on unleaded gas for many years. I'm wondering what changes, if any, were required to run unleaded. Thanks

Looking to see what you guys use for lighting (entertaining) up on your canvas flybridge. I am considering a couple of Fatboy Bollekes, they are rechargeable led, but open to other suggestions .
Thanks in advance

Post General Rudder gap question
- Posted by: rvannan » January 23rd, 2022, 10:55 am
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
93 350 AC - Noticed when boat was pulled for storage (first year of ownership) that there is about a 1/8" gap between rudder and mount. Same on both rudders. Just curious if this is expected and through shaft is designed to float a bit? Advice much appreciated!

Hi fellow Carver Owners! Looked at a 1988 3207 today to buy, like the interior, has 2 Mercruisers - any opinions on this model good or bad?!?! If you have one, how is the cruising speed/handling?
We currently have a Carver Montego mid cabin cruiser and we love it, but looking for something bigger for weekending
Thanks for any thoughts

- Forum: Introduce Yourself!
We are not yet Carver owners. We plan to cruise the Great Loop early in retirement in about six years. We're window shopping for boats to consider and the Carver boats seem to have much to offer.
I'm also interested in learning about marinas along the Tennessee River and Tenn-Tom Waterway for keeping the boat. It's entirely possible that we'll want to move to a home on/near navigable water where we can have our own boat dock/house for keeping the boat. Perhaps there are communities along the wate ...

Post Under Platform Swim Ladder
- Posted by: MichaelOKC » January 20th, 2022, 9:04 pm
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
My question concerns the swim ladder on my ‘89 3467 Santego. It has an under platform configuration with, as I recall, three collapsible steps. The problem is that at some point, under power, it opens up. I do not actually know this has happened until I return to the dock and notice it completely hanging “unfurled” below the stern deck. More recently I might have heard and/or felt a mild change/disturbance from the stern under acceleration, which may have been related to the ladder deploying?

Post 2003 Carver 444 draft when full
- Posted by: Piggy3 » January 20th, 2022, 5:01 pm
- Forum: Introduce Yourself!
First I would like to introduce myself (George) and my wife Tracy to this group , we look forward to learning many things about our new boat from this you all. We have purchased (new to us) a 2003 Carver 444. Manufacturer's draft spec is a draft of 3.5 ft. I've done some due diligence and tried to find out what this draft becomes full but have been unsuccessful so who else do I come to is you guys and girls. Can someone give me a number based on " full" ?
Thanks in advance
