Post Sealant for Salon Window

Hi all,

I have a 2005 41 CMY.

While docking I hit the aluminum rub rail of my neighbor with my lower port aft salon window.

Not a pretty sight.

I was able to reach out to Carver at the time to get the part number and OEM glass manufacture.

My glass guy is looking to see what Carver used to seal, caulk the glass with. Now that Carver isn't around I'm looking for someone that is familiar with the process. Trend Marine the OEM gave me a rough guide for the installation. My glass guy wants to v ...

Post Head panel and molding cracked around window

Hi there,

I own a 2004 Mariner 360 and the panel and molding around the head window is broken and slowly falling apart. It's like if the head panel was slowly pulling out from the window with time.

The window is nice and solid and not moving and the only part that is loose is the oval molding around the window. Here are a few pictures.

Has anyone out there ever had this problem or heard about it?

Thank you!

Post Riser replacement intervals

Merc 454’s, 3/4 closed cooling. Engine and manifolds have coolant, risers raw water. Less than 50 hours per year right now. What is your take on riser replacement? Not a fan of removing and inspecting as all the labor involved may as well replace. When do you change yours?

Post Shower Sump DC breaker size

1994 390CPMY. Shower sump trips breaker occasionally. Pump is new, so I am suspecting a weak breaker. I have the manuals at home, so I am sure I can find the proper size. However, does anyone know how to get it out of the panel? Looks like there is a catch on right side and a screw holding the breaker to the buss bar. . I slid the catch out but couldn’t get the breaker out. Also any idea of replacement source?

Post 33ss 8.1 crusader engines fluctuating rpms HELP

On my 33ss we ran about 3 hours and the starboard engine rpm went from 3000 to 2500 back to 3000 then to 1700 rpm pack to 3000 and so on .. I suspected the fuel as the boat had set for about 2 years . I have an aux valve to cross feed off the port tank so I switched the starboard to the port tank jand everything ran fine .. I ended up running the port tank dry and had to switch both engines to the starboard tank and sure enough both engines rpms now fluctuated .. I checked the water separator ...

Post Bow and Stern thruster for 396 MY

Good Afternoon Carver Family,

I am looking to add a Bow and Stern Thruster on my 396 MY. It is a 2003.

Does anyone recommend where to add the tunnel hole or where to get this information?

Also the wiring and where to install the batteries. There seems to be little room to run wires to the engine compartment then up to the helm..

If anyone can share some insight that would be great!

I have looked at Vetus, Lewmar or Side Shift

Looking forward to your feedback!

Post New Member - First Carver '07 35 SS

Hi all,
Great forum and LOTS to learn.
Will be getting our Carver in two weeks and need to prepare for it's first big trip in maybe 5 years, relocating to its new home in Morehead City, NC. 200 nm trip! Hired a Captain to ride along with and show us the ropes on the ICW.

The marine survey was fairly clean - besides some items to address when we get home (no generator), sea trial passed with flying colors. However, this boat was hardly used in 5 years with remote absentee owner, so it needs som ...

Post Presto Marine dingy lift install on 506?

Has anyone looked into or installed the Presto dingy lift on a 506? I am concerned that the transition from low speed to cruise when the platform tends to be awash that the dink will be dragging too much in the water.

Post Ignition Issues

I have a 2002 410 Sports Sedan. It has twin 8.1L Mercruisers - 360 HP each. When I first got the boat in June, I was having trouble starting the port engine. Often it would start no problem but after running for a awhile and then turning off to go for a swim or anchor, I couldn't get the engine to turn. would use the generator to power up and eventually replaced both cranking batteries to be safe. turns out the starter was bad and drawing a lot of power. I took that out and had it rebuilt ...

Post 40’ limit

I am presently at a Parks Canada mooring. I was approached by the warden and told a maximum of 40’ on all moorings. I explained the 40’ yacht near me weighed twice as much and was even longer LOA. He knew this but has to go by the numbers on the boat. Hmmm, he said I was OK for tonight but now I have a new project. Will be lettering my boat 40CMY. :-D
