Post Questions regarding 84 aft cabin

Does anyone here have a spec on the transmission used on this boat and a link to an online shop manual for them?

Which engine spins in the conventional direction (same as automotive application)? and which spins opposite?

Thanks.

Post Hello. No boat yet

As noted, I have not bought a Carver yet, but am zeroing-in on a 1984 aft cabin. It has been out of use for some time and needs a lot of mechanical work, it is complete and unmodified from the way Carver built it.

My sailboat go on the market in a few weeks. I had an epiphany over a year ago and realized that a cruiser is far better suited for my family than a sailboat.

BTW, I'm considering naming our next boat "Dad Joke". My daughter is not amused. :-D

Post New season, but maybe similar to last year...

Getting ready for the season on Lake Champlain. I’m feeling bad for my Canadiens friends/dock mates as it looks like they may miss out on another season down here. At SOME point I’d think they will get there boat brought up across the border, I know I would if it’s going to look like another summer with the border closed (at least for weekend traffic).

I’m grateful to be able to work on the boat this spring and get it ready as last year everything shut down around this time and I was only able t ...

Post New to forum with problem.

Hello everyone. Recently purchased a 3027 Flybridge and love it. I moved it a couple weeks ago and lost port motor coming down due to bad fuel. Made it fortunately without tow. Had the bottom looked at this morning and was told my port rudder is missing. Well this is a problem. Found a company in fort lauderdale that has rudders but need dimensions. Anyone know what they are for the year. Or where to get one. Has twin crusaders. If that matters
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Post 1986 Voyager New Owner!

Admirer, now new owner of a well kept 1986 Carver Voyager 28. Twin Mercrusier 230 inboards with 800 hours.

Will be sailing out of Marinnete WI.

Looks like a wealth of info here on wide ranging topics. I'm new to the forum format, so apologies in advance and advise welcome on best practices.

Neglected fresh water system froze, so will be needing new 40 gallon tank ( and probably much more ).

Carver only had outdated part number, so was hoping an owner could give me dimensions so I can source a repla ...

Post Mariner 350 leak in rear of salon over coach and fuse panel

All,

When my boat was in storage this year the Marina shored it very bow high which is not how my 350 usually sits. Before she was shrink wrapped I had water coming in at the rear of the salon by the coach and wetting the rear fuse panel compartment. I looked everywhere for the source of this leak so that I can stop it. Has anyone had the same issue or any idea where it may be coming from?

Post Chrome fittings

One of the 'to dos' since effectively losing six months of maintenance time is sorting out the various chromed fittings on my 2827; this is the sort of thing which has happened (over the years, doubtless) to various fittings, including throttle controls:
IMG_0650[27950].jpg
That's the soap dish from the forward cabin; chrome on aluminium, or steel, has flaked and separated. I'm going to take my hand-drill with a wire brush to it, and probably paint it or something, but before I do, wonder whether this i ...
