Post Bilge Blower Replacement on a 530
- Posted by: Cricket » October 2nd, 2020, 9:16 pm
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
Hi Folks,
So, none of my four bilge blowers on my 2003 530 are working. It me a while to find them. The are wedged between the fuel tanks and the hull with essentially no way to access them that I can see. Has anyone attempted such a repair?
many thanks
Tim

Post Bow Thruster Started up on its own!

- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
Hi Folks,
I have a 2003 530 Voyager. I live on the boat on and off. A couple weeks ago I was awoken in the middle of the night to the bow thruster running. It is a Volvo Penta BP1200 (24v). I rushed to the helm and tried reversing direction and deactivating the station. I also went to the upper helm and repeated this. No effect! I continued to fiddle and it would stop for a second when I reversed direction, then start up on its own again. After a couple minutes it stopped on its own and did not r ...

Post 355 Aft Cabin Muffler

Does anyone have any knowledge of the exhaust system on a 95 355 Aft?
Motors - 454 Crusaders
When I start the port motor for the first time after a period of "rest", the muffler is clearly empty. It takes about a minute to completely fill up and start doing it's job. When I shut the motor off, water continues to drain from the exhaust for maybe 5 minutes before stopping.
To me it sounds like even when the muffler is full that the port motor is louder than the starboard. The starboard starts a lit ...

Post Polish & waxing
- Posted by: Grafunkus » October 2nd, 2020, 8:14 am
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
We plan to do a thorough polish/wax in the off season on our new to us boat. Not sure when it was last done. Probably using the McGuire's three step process, but willing to look at other suggestions. Logistically, how do you actually work on the boat when it is way above your head? Do you rent scaffolding? Just go up and down a ladder? Also, how do you mark where you have worked when the boat is white and the compound/wax is white??

Post Seeking Mariner 3297 or Mariner 3697
- Posted by: titchenal » October 1st, 2020, 5:06 pm
- Forum: Carver Boats For Sale
I am looking for a 3297 or 3697 along the Mississippi in Minnesota or Wisconsin. As with many boats this year, they are few and far between. Boat selling sites and Craigslist only takes one so far. Am hoping that there is someone here that is looking to make a move from theirs.
thanks!

Post Bilge Heaters

Hello everyone. I need to purchase a bilge heater for a 1997 350 Mariner. Does anyone suggest a particular brand and size? I have been told the "XTREME" heaters are the best but wanted to see opinions of this group. Also, does the bilge have an outlet or receptacle down in it? Haven't seen one yet but not sure. Thanks for any advise on this topic.

Hi, New owner here, don't have all details at hand yet and not much documentation came with the boat so I'm full of questions.
Small family, first (motor)boat and a winter ahead to get her up to speed.
This one was imported from Canada or the US around 1990-1992 to Belgium. At that time equipped with V8 petrol engines. Quite soon refit with 4-cylinder Volvo Penta diesel engines. Imported into The Netherlands some years ago and not used as much as planned so put up for sale.
Some maintenance was d ...
