Post 454 CI carburetor question

Each 454 on my 3807 has Rochester carburetors. This is the interesting part. They have divorced chokes. Meaning they have a separate metal coil mounted to the manifold that is attached to the choke plate. When engines start choke is fully closed. When the manifold heats up, coil expands, lifts the rod and the choke plate opens. Seems cave mannish, but maybe it was a tried and true method in 88?. Just had the carbs cleaned and rebuilt. Still have the issue of when started, there’s a smell of raw ...

Post Looking for a Part

Looking for the solenoid/resistor cover for our Waukesha 302 Fords. These are 1975 engines so it's probably wishful thinking. Jim

Post Boat On The Highway

Sad, wonder if it was just and old soft hull that gave way and she fell from the transport. Definately no spring chicken non the less still quite a few of the old Chris Craft in the waters. https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/an-errant-b ... -1.4996738

Post 2003 Carver 366 Motoryacht with 6.2 Mercruisers

Are the 6.2 Mercruisers 320 HP big enough for this boat? And what might be the approximate fuel burn. Upper Chesapeake Bay location (brackish water). And what should the WOT readings be for this model for a Sea Trial?
Plus any specific items to look for when searching for this model boat?

Thanks in advance for any information on this model.

Jon

Post Refrigerator/Freezer Replacement

Just completed a small DYI project on the weekend. Boat came with a Nova Kool RFS 7501 AC/DC under the counter style refrigerator/freezer. It worked fine, but for the Admiral and I, it was just hard to get into and to see what was in the back, without being on your hands and knee's. To be honest it was a pain in the aft. There was also some waisted space in it after it was packed up.

Decided to replace it with a Vitrifrigo DW210 SS AC/DC drawer refrigerator/freezer. Freezer on the top and re ...

Post Potable Water Pump Continuously Running

Have an issue with the pump running continuous periodically. At times it will pressurize and shut off though. I checked for leaks and have tightened all clamps/connections I can get at.

Pump is likely original Shurflo, so would it be safe to assume this is a pump issue?

Post Westerbeke Genset

I have drawn the line in the sand as to what I will spend. To get my 6.5CZ Kohler back to reliability. Has anyone switched. Out to a Westerbeke? I have a 390CMY vintage 1994, and wish to keep in same place. Between the engines. I understand they are pretty quiet versus the dinosaur I have? Any idea on pricing? Also, the 6.5 does what I need, but any advantage to going bigger. Don’t want to break thee bank, but need to start planning now Thanks in advance.
