Post Distributors for Crusader 454XL?

I've got a 1995 370 Voyager with twin 454XL. The starboard HEI Ignition Module went bad and was replaced. The Cap and rotor were also worn, I had the spare parts so I replaced them as well. The distributor looks very old with signs of corrosion. I'd like to replace the distributors in both engines. Manual says Port is LH and Starboard is RH rotation. I've got Borg Warner transmissions. All I can find on-line is LH distributors (Sierra 18-5484-1 and similar). Will LH work in both engines?? Don't ...

Post Window Weather Stripping

Hi, I'm looking for information on the fuzzy window weather striping that's between the sliding side windows on our 1975 Carver Santa Cruz. It's mounted on a thin strip of aluminum and slips in to a channel that's pushed on to the end of the window. It closes the gap between the two windows. I've looked at Owen's Prime Line self adhesive which may work. I was going to post some pictures of what I'm looking for except I couldn't figure out how to do it. Jim

Post Windlass chain

I have a 1989 Carver Montego 2557 express cruiser. Bought a couple of years ago and have been refurbishing. Question regarding the electric windlass. It came with 100 feet of 5/16 galvanized chain attached. It works. Have pulled it all out by hand and wound it back it by windlass with anchor attached. What I am concerned about is the weight up front when coiled in the bow. A 100 feet of 5/16 chain is a lot of weight and not sure if this boat can handle it when on plane. May force bow do ...

Post Hello all and help me out!

Hi all, I'm Edwin from the gulf coast of Texas.

I'm hoping to purchase a 1986 3227 Convertible and am curious if the entire floor at the stern comes off or just the access panels that are clearly removable.

I'm positive I will spend far too many hours in the engine bay to fight with what looks like horrible access.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide, I hope to be posting pictures of a new to me Carver soon.

Post Fuel transfer line

This might be a dumb question, but I’m interested in answers from anyone who knows the answer.

My Carver 460 Voyager has a fuel transfer line between the two tanks that sit near the aft of the boat.

There is no pump transfer, it’s simply gravity/pressure I assume. I also assume it’s there because the genset draws fuel on,y from the starboard tank.

So my question is, if the boat naturally lists to one side (maybe not naturally, but due to weight distribution of tender, etc), and I open the transfer ...

Post I LOVE Carver, but.....

I have had a recent experience which leads me to this statement.

The customer support has been GREAT. They are always willing to help and always do everything possible to address any situation that I have encountered in the last couple years. But I must take issue with the documentation in the Owners manual. (for model year 2005 in the least!)

This is the second incident where the documentation does not reflect reality.

The first time happened last year when I wanted to do something about the intr ...

Post Mariner 350 a/c airflow

Greetings all, hope you and yours are all well in this situation.

We have a 2002 Mariner 350 which we love!

The a/c in the cabin (above bench and near table) blows strong and cold to the point we almost need to turn a/c up or off.

However the airflow in the berth is very low and it never gets cool enough in the berth.

Has anyone figured a way to improve airflow in berth?
