While cleaning my engine room bilge, I found this guy at the bottom. Any idea what it is used for?

Ok, this is probably going to be one of my most embarrassing posts. So last fall I purchased an 03 396 with Cummins power. I think I may be low on Power steering fluid (or should I say Hyd fluid) as my steering is a bit difficult as I go from one extreme to the other. What would any semi-handy guy do?? go fill the fluid, of course...

guess what... I can't find it! can anyone tell me where it is??

Ok I found my next Boat. It's a 2001 Carver 350 Mariner in good condition with both motors replaced and under 100 hours.

The weird part is things on the boat its self.

I got the build sheets from Carver and they are pretty straight forward.

But the boat has a few things that dont quite belong to a 2001.

First the dash layout. Going thru the owners manuals for each year. This dash doesnt appear until 2004. Ok maybe someone changed it possibly. Under the parts list for 2001 it says hulls 1 - 13 ha ...

On a 1997 does anyone know if the Hull is a single layer , double-hulled or any foam within it ?

So I’m the new owner of an old Carver! 1994 320 Voyager and I need to get it moved. This is becoming a major undertaking. My starboard and center bildge is dry..there is a hole that allows water from.l starboard side into center and the pump clears it out. ..there is no hole under port side..I have water fairly high in the port side after a washdown..

How does the port side pump out?? There is no hose or drain allowing the water to flow to the center area where batteries are located..

The exterior side entry door to 39MY has a spring-loaded hard plastic pin that snaps into a catch plate in the floor. The pin travels the full height of the door about 24" and has snapped off on the bottom. It's not clear how to remove and replace the pin. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this? Thanks!
