Here’s an alternative to fill the hole in the counter if you remove your inoperative or unused alcohol/electric stove top (‘85 Mariner). You can use a portable hot plate and stow it when it’s not being used to give you more counter space/prep area. “Custom made” over the weekend and secured with silicon/caulk adhesive.

I have an ‘89 3465. One of my burners does not function. I also have a new replacement burner. However, I cannot find a way to remove the “retainer ring?” in order to get the original burner out. It looks like you just pry it off, but I do not want to damage either it or the stove top. Is there some secret to taking out the burners?

Wondering if anyone has had this problem before. Launched a new to me 2003 356 with 8.1 Mercruiser Horizon engines this weekend. Both engines started right up. Let them idle and after a few minutes, the smart craft gauges started going off with an engine fault warning. Shut em down to investigate- seacocks open, oil level ok, plenty of antifreeze in the closed system, but could see that there was still glycol in the sea strainers. My 1985 36' Mariner has a foul order coming from around the forward air conditioner. In the same are is the vent running under the forward sink to the outside which I believe is the vent for the holding tank. The holding tank is clean and clear right now as we have just had the boat opened up a couple weeks ago.The order seems to come and go a bit but stumped on where its coming from and just how to get rid of it. Please help.
