Post Replacement Accent Lighting Question

I am trying to determine how I can replace my stair and other overhead accent lighting either using the original 12v incandescent lights or just 12v LED. I can't seem to locate lights that would fit inside the existing tubes. Also, I don't have access behind the stairs but there is a little slack in the wires so I would need to solder the new connections to whatever it would be on the outside.

Does anyone have any experience replacing these and if so with what? I have attached a couple of phot ...

Post MarineAir 16,000 Capacitor

All,
My salon Marine Air 16,000 is tripping the breaker as soon as it kicks in. My A/C Pump is running and both my Forward and Aft units are functioning fine. I read somewhere that it could be the startup capacitor but I am not sure where to start with that. Is there any advice out there for troubleshooting this sort of problem?
Thanks in advance.

Post Prop question

Carver 33 SS 2006 with Crusader 6.0 MPI engines and ZF63 transmissions.

We had a touch and go. Afterwards, we were getting a vibration at about 2100 RPM’s in the starboard engine. A friend of mine pulled the starboard prop. I got the prop repaired. The boat ran fine after that. However, I only got it up to about 2700 rpm’s.

(I have removed one of the props before (can’t remember which) chasing down an RPM problem which turned out to be water in the fuel filter).

Later in the fall, we hit somethin ...

Who has taken their Caver to the Bahamas, Exumas, Turks and Cacos perhaps? What boat, when and how long.

We are in the early stages of planning for this coming winter on our 396.

Post 2004 Carver 466 MY Transmission Problem

Hello All!

I have the Volvo 480 hp diesels with ZF model 280-1A transmissions. While under power at 1900 RPM my starboard transmission went to neutral. Tried unsuccessfully to get it into forward, but would go into reverse no problem. I have checked the coils, solenoid valves and valve body with no luck. Verified electronic shifter operational. This is a new boat to me and certainly was not counting on a major repair.

Suggestions please! Qualified mechanics in my area that might be able to fix.

Post Electronic Ignition

This looks like the year I will finally install electronic ignition in my Carver. I am going to use my stimulus check and stimulate my mechanics pocketbook. The kit he uses includes two new distributors and coils and wiring. I am also going to have him change out the sparkplugs at the same time. The current plugs along with the points have been installed since 2015 just before I bought the boat.

As long as nothing else breaks down that is the plan.
