Our boat came with a Nova Kool side by side fridge freezer which we really like however my wife noticed it does not cool as well as it first did when we purchased the boat 4 years ago. We took delivery of a 95 Santego 310 a couple weeks ago and we are getting to know her. So far the problems have had solutions but that can't last. I expect I will be asking for help soon and often and I will certainly share what I can. I do have a little experience with Chris Craft, a 57' mahogany runabout and a 28' Catalina from 1980. I hate to see her go, but I think we are going to be really happy on this Carver.

Question: my '89 3607 aft cabin has a holding tank under the bed and under the foot of the bed is the vent filter.

My wife notices the odour of the holding tank in the aft cabin. I notice it sometimes.



I'm wondering what could be causing the odour to leak into the cabin? Could the vent filter need replacing? I drop sewage tank treatment pods into the toilet every week but this doesn't seem to resolve the odour. I also have an automatic air freshener to help mask the odour.



Anyone have some ideas ...

So this sounds like a dumb question to me but I just bought my 03 396. When I turn on all my lights in the boat and cabin, they are pulling some 35-45 amps on my panel. Is that normal?? They are still the original style lights.

Kohler diesel generator shuts down with fault code RF. I replaced primary and secondary fuel filters guessing RF stands for replace filter? That has not solved the problem. I cant find RF code and what is means-

I have had intermittent problems with the shore power. I have two shore cords connected to the power box on my dock at the marina. Every once and awhile, I am only getting power to line 1. The power box was checked by the marina's electrician with no problem. Sometimes everything works perfectly and other time no line 2 power.

Any thoughts before I pay my electrician to look at the issue?

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2001, 396 with the Cummins 6BTA-5.9-M3 370 hp (821 hours). Can anyone with the same boat tell me what the stock size prop should be? I believe the boat maybe over propped as it will only reach 2800 rpm at WOT and I have read that the boat should reach at least 3000 rpm at WOT.
