Hi Gang, I have been looking for a midsize cruiser for several years, I want to keep it up at Lake Tahoe during the summers. and probably drydock it in my yard during the winters. I really like the Carver Santego 3467. I would appreciate any info regarding recurring issues with this model, general maintenance tips etc. I am also wondering whether or not you all think this is a trailerable boat, I plan on trailering it to and from Tahoe, a distance of about 60-80 miles, at the beginning and end o ...

Hey everyone. I would like to get an idea of how many folks run the genset all night when on a hook in horrendous heat. I have read all sorts of stuff, some saying they would only run diesel at night. Others state that as long as engine room exhaust is opposite intake, running gasoline generator is fine. Many people will not run anything mechanical at night; the category in which I currently fall. I did notice that Hans has a removable ceiling electric fan that seems like it would help.

I have a bank of 5 batteries, plus a separate one for the generator. Want to replace all of them except the generator battery. Should they all (in the bank) be deep cycles? Boat is a '05 44 MY.

Hello fellow boaters...I'm struggling to learn if the starter on my starboard engine rotates in the same direction as the port? My starters are Delco Remy and of coarse they're obsolete with no replacements available. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards.

Post 350 Mariner battery shelf

I need to replace the battery shelf. It appears that the old one is decayed and leaving some debris to clog the bilge pump. Has anyone done this ? I assume when I remove the battery boxes there will be some type of brackets fastened to the stringers. With the generator in the way its going to be a stand on your head job. Any suggestions appreciated.

Post 82 Carver 3607 Aft Cabin - Stringer replacement

- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
I have just found out that my 2 main longitudinal stringers are rotted and need replacing. Does anyone have an idea of the cost of a massive project like this?
Any suggestions on who I can get to do this job in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area? The boat is for sale for $39,500.00 so the repair would have to make sense in terms of cost.

Post Fabric Paint interior

8 MORE weeks! I have the 390 CPMY. On the forward berth and the aft cabin there is fabric on the walls. It is a constant issue with mold on the aft cabin, and the forward cabin has stains from the previous owner operating with the portholes open (can't even fathom that one!) Anyway, has anyone ever painted that fabric? I was thinking of a couple coats of KILZ, and then a coat of semi gloss latex paint? Unsure what to do, but we hate the scrubbing needed.
Thanks again! The exhaust hose replacemen ...
