Post saw it in post

In one of the recent discussions, the poster mentioned a 'violent' slap on the sun deck from wave action when at rest and said don't worry you'll get used to it. Of course now I can't find it.

Anybody remember seeing this? Send me a message if you know where I can find it.

Thanx

Post Merc vs Volvo Penta

Looking at 1990’s to 2005 Aft cabins in the 40’+ range. Very familiar w/ Merc I/O’s but have only heard negatives about the Volvo I/O’s. Looking for feedback on pros/ cons of both in a direct drive setup. Thx

Post I'm the John Snow of CYO

Hello All,
New member, I'm actually a "kind of" Carver owner, I have a Trojan 440 Express (by Carver) and it was built in Wisconsin right next to all the other Carvers, but some of the DNA came from others LOL.

Post Inverter/charger replacement

2005 45 voyager
I replaced my nonworking charles inverter in june 2018 with a xantrex 3000watt.
It shorted out and heavy black charring in august 2018, two months later.
My electrican says he found dried salt on top of inverter and recommends relocating out of starboard bulkhead which is the factory location.
My options are cover top and sides with a rain shield or relocate to where?
Any thoughts or experience out their?
Installing another one soon.

Post HVAC Q-Logic Control System

I've been experiencing a temperature display issue with my boat's AC system. It has a Cruisair Q3 display/control with the Cruisair Q-logic Control retrofit system connected to a Marine Air Systems VR12K-H AC/reverse heater. The boat has two systems and this one is located within the forward stateroom.

My issue is this, when the HVAC unit is turned off at the display the temperature displayed is the correct temp inside the forward stateroom. This has been verified with an independent room ther ...

Post Replacment Switch for TV reception

Anyone replace the cable/TV antenna selector switch?

Ours was located under the stairs entering the salon. I think its part of the package with the Shakespeare Amplified TV antenna. Ours failed to OHM out and wouldn't allow the cable connection or TV connection to pass thru on either setting.

For now we bypassed it, feed the comcast cable box directly to salon HDMI TV input, with a 1by_one flat panel TV antenna that works really well for its size.

I would like to get it wired back to factor ...

Post Merc Smartcraft Gateway

We have a 2003 356 with 8.1s eligible for the Merc gateway. Currently have smartcraft gauges but have a pair of Raymarine ES128 that I would rather have engine data displayed on instead. Has anybody here done the install on one of these?

Post Chesapeake Bay Marinas

Hi Folks,

We are looking to move our 466 from NYC to Chesapeake Bay, and looking for input on great marinas.

Criteria:

1. Secure and safe

2. Reasonably priced (doesn't have to be cheap or expensive, just value for money)

3. Walk to restaurant or Pub

4. Pool nearby

We have done a little research on Solomon Island and kind of liking that area, but we have no ties to any particular location at this point.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated, and hoping not to cause any territorial battles here (grin ...

Post Makrolon VR experience anyone

Hi to all. Been awhile since I posted anything. We replaced our vinyl windows on the carver 356 last year, must have gotten the wrong vinyl, they turned bad real fast, some panels I can't see thru. Anyway, I am looking at alternative material, and kind of settled for Makrolon. Specifically "Makrolon VR" which is apparently some what flexible enough to roll unlike the none VR version. Apparently it can be cut, sewn fairly easy. Has anyone used this material, do you have any pics, comments o ...
