Post 2001 Carver 570 Voyager

I am going to look at a 2001 Carver 570 Voyager in Stuart, Florida in 2 weeks and would appreciate any advice anyone is willing to give me. I don't know much about Carvers so I'd appreciate heads up on any known problems I should be on the look out for. i.e soft spots that are known to happen, windows that leak, known electrical problems that occur with the model, etc... Thanks in advance.

This is the boat.

Post Exhaust Hose

1994 390 CPMY with 454’s. How do you know when to replace the exhaust hose? Mine is still pliable, but a lot of cracks on the outer part of the hose. Do you replace when it is hard? Mine is not leaking or noises. What guidance can I get? I am sure it is original hose, but as you know virtually no pressure in it, and no CO leaking. What criteria do you all use for replacement, where we are talking $55.00/ft for hose.

Thanks!

Tony

Post Switching active stations.

I have Volvo Penta shifters on my Carver and have yet to discover if there is a way to switch from one helm to another without shutting down the engines. Anyone familiar with these controls that can explain the process.

Post What Spring Projects are you Planning

Hi Folks and Happy New Year. Like many of you my thoughts are turning to Spring Boating and potential upgrades and projects. I think it might be interesting to hear what many of us have planned for the 2019 boating season. I have three items that I will address. The first is to change out the main heat exchangers on the engines. The boat is 14 years old and I want to be proactive with this as I have had issues this past season with oil coolers. Second on the list is to change out the engine ...

Post Hi all, from Australia.

Hi all, from Australia

After a bit of boat searching, I think I've nailed my options down to a Carver 325, it suits my budget and style.
I'm unsure if the fuel consumption is too high for my use as I intend on doing a lot of coastal cruising but I'll work this out as I go.
I do like the style and accommodation in the 325 and of course, the price suits me well.

Post 2019 New Year for boating

HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody! Just 135 days to official boating season, something less than that considering all the different dates for individual launch plans and climate. Just thinking about a favorite anchorage of mine in Fish Creek, WI called Horseshoe Island. The island looks back to a land camping area and 125 foot rock ledges, set in dense evergreen trees. First aroma in the morning is a combination of pine scent, fresh coffee and bacon from the camp sites, against the sound of a NOAA da ...

Post 2006 Carver 36MY TV cable question

We have a 2006 Carver 36MY, we are owner #3. There are (2) TV's, on in salon cubby next to steps and one in aft stateroom.

Both TV's each have 1byone flat panel TV Antenna's attached, with coax cable undone. There is a "cable box" connection under the swim step stairs. There is also an Omni direction TV antenna on the arch, same area as GPS/Radar dome, installed by first owner.

We would like to be able to use a dockside cable TV hookup, but I'm wondering about this TV antenna on the arch? is it ...
