Post Volt meter switches on a 3807

Hi Guys,

We just purchased a 1988 3807 and are getting to know this boat. During the sea trials, the surveyor marked the volt meters at the upper and lower helm as INOP. In digging around, I found two independant switches for these meters to be turned on or off in the hanging closet in the aft berth. Is there any reason NOT to leave them on? They don't work unless each engine key is on. I can't figure the reason to have them switched in the closet anyway.

Thanks,

Vic

Post My 2018 Season Is Over

The time has arrived. My Carver is coming out of the water and will soon begin its long winter nap. Wednesday was a beautiful day. About 50* and 0 wind. It was a perfect day to end the season on.

Post Wanted: Carver Voyager 450 Skylounge WestCoast

Hi All,
I am new to the forum and am looking for a Carver 450 Voyager with the Skylounge Option, instead of the lower helm, also..a Hardtop would be a plus. Does anyone know of someone who is considering selling theirs.. Preferably on the west coast, I am in Southern California, but would entertain having the boat transported. I really like the overall layout of this boat. 1999-200? Thank you, let me know if you have any leads..

Post 2000s 356 Aft - Would You Survey?

I'm thinking about dropping a pretty penny on this beast, but I'm worried I'll be biting off more than I can chew. This boat is fresh water... now... but clearly seen some salt.

Thoughts folks, would you do it?

Post Bad spark plugs caused this?

I thought I would share my story about an episode I had recently. We travelled from homeport about 30 miles to our destination (another marina) without incident. When we were ready to leave the next morning we fueled up, and had difficulty starting the stbd engine. When it finally started it was vibrating and running rough. Upon getting out of the harbor, we could not get stbd engine over 500 rpms, and serious rough vibration. When I checked the engine compartment there was steam, exhaust g ...

Post Fueling a Kicker motor

I have a 20hp Yamaha motor I'm going to use as a Kicker motor in case of main engine failure. I didn't want it hanging off the back of my swim platform all the time. So i made a quick release bracket that only take a minute to mount and I also made a secure and lockable cradle for the outboard on the cockpit deck. What I'm working now is to get fuel to it. I want to tap in to the main tank and would like some input on the best way to do it. I want to put a fuel connection thru the hull on the ou ...

Post What Is This Thing???

I have a 1983 Aft Cabin 3607 and have been wondering about a wood square on the port side of my hull (pictured). The wood is rotting apart but since whatever used to be attached has been cut I never really tried to figure out what it is... but I am curious. Maybe something to do with grounding at some point? Thanks.
