Post How often do you reinflate your dingy?

OK, I'm looking for actual experience, not what a book or manual says.

How often do you have to reinflate your dingy to get it up to your desired pressure? Also include what year it is (even if just approximately) and what type (PVC vs Hypalon). I'm interested in real-world experience with a variety of dingys.

I have two, one 1994 PVC RIB that must be reinflated about every 3 days to keep it firm enough for comfortable travel I also have a 2004 Zodiac PVC SIB that needs a 'recharged' about e ...

Post Velvet Transmission sensor bypass

I was having fun down there in the engine room(closet) and pulled a wire connected to a sensor on the transmission.

The sensor has 2 pins, a black wire coming from the transmission goes to one pin and another beige wire goes to the other pin. One of the pins broke on the sensor and now the buzzer is on full time.

I will replace this sensor but in the mean time I want to bypass the sensor to shut the buzzer off. Not sure if I should just connect both wires together or connect them both to ground.

Post Height Overall?

I found a spec in a Carver 325 brochure saying that the boat's "height overall" was 11'6" without canvas. Is that from the waterline (so I would have to add 2'11" draft) or total for shipping purposes?
Thanks.

Post Carver Voyager 2827 - Let's See Those Upgrades

I'm one of those guys who can't leave well enough alone. We've purchased our 1987 2827 and the mod bug has already bitten. The list of things to upgrade is growing longer by the day. I'm curious to see what upgrades or modifications other Voyager and Mariner owners have made. I'm also hoping to get some good source information.

One of the coolest mods I've seen here thus far is a courtesy light with a laser engraved base plate installed on a Mariner, I believe. Looks awesome.

Brag about what you'v ...

Post Fuel Maintenance Strategy

My last boat was a diesel boat, and as I continue my search for a 325/326 Aft cabin gas boat, something occurred to me. Based on an experience having trouble starting my gas powered hedge trimmers that I left gas in, I started wondering how I should manage fuel in a gas powered boat. On my diesel, it was recommended to keep the tanks full at all times to minimize condensation in the tanks. Also, I suspect it will take us a long time to use the full gas capacity of a 325/326 (162 gallons) and ...

Post Battery Fill Kit

Never knew these existed so thought I would post this. Battery filling is inconveniently accessed on most boats so this solution is rather interesting. Ordered one and will be installing it on my house bank. If it proves to be the best thing since sliced bread then adding it to the other hidden batteries will eventually happen. https://www.campingworld.com/pro-fill-r ... ing-system

Would like to hear the pros and cons from anyone here familiar with this.

Post removal of fly bridge

I need to remove the fly bridge from my 33 foot voyager. Can anyone give me an idea of how to go about doing this? I need to transport her over the road and she is way too tall. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Post Adding House Batteries?

Anyone have experience on adding house batteries and configuration? I have a 326 Aft and currently I have 2 house batteries (that double as Starters) and an isolated battery for the generator. I would like to add house power and have separate starter(s) but am looking for guidance as to what I should likely add. Not looking to run coffee maker, microwave etc off the house, but wouldn't mind being able to run a small tv in addition to lights etc.

Thanks in advance,

Post Best cleaner for cabin water damage (pic included)

My boat had an issue with leaking at the bow rail that has since been repaired, but it left an ugly front panel near the bed. The panel continues past the closet and removing it does not appear to be an option. I’m considering adding a decorative panel over it, but hoping to clean it first. What’s the best cleaner? Any other creative solutions? Dye? Bleach then dye?
