Post 504 Owners?

Good Morning All!
We have recently become enamored with 504 Cockpit Motor Yacht model. So far, we've only seen it in photos but it sure looks like it was tailor-made for our needs.
One of the nicest features in the engine room access. On our old boat, a 1986 Chris Craft Catalina, the engine room access was a removable hatch in the salon floor. No ladder, no steps, and while you're working in the engine room, everyone else had to be careful walking around in the salon. The 504 engine room is ...

Post Lewmar Concept 1 windlass
- Posted by: MakinTime » February 18th, 2018, 1:40 pm
- Forum: General Repairs & Maintenance
Hi guys looking at getting a new windlass from a friend. It is the Lewmar concept 1 it is new unit with a used gypsy on it, new gypsy was taken for another windlass. Gypsy on it is very usable. I can get it for next to nothing thinking 200 bucks. I know this is a obsolete windlass, but does anyone have experience with one? My current windlass is a Simpson Lawrence sprint 1000 which needs a new motor (cost is $450).
I will attach a pic thanks.

Post Any issues after adding extended swim platform
- Posted by: Ozzymann » February 17th, 2018, 11:31 am
- Forum: General Boating Discussion
New to the forum and in the process of purchasing a 1997 350 Mariner. I'm considering adding a 4' extended swim platform (which would double the current size) and wondering if anyone has experienced any performance problems after adding an after-market swim platform? Specifically wondering if the extended swim platform would interfere with performance while accelerating - i.e., cause difficulty getting boat to plane - or cause problems decelerating with water coming over the back of the platfo ...

My 1999 Carver Mariner has an Automatic transfer switch for the 110V system. How does this work? I would like to put in an Pure Sign Power Inverter so I can make a quick cup of coffee or microwave something with out firing up the noisy generator. How would it go about attaching this to the system?

Post Carver Mariner 350 Anchoring Technique
- Posted by: amanphoto » February 17th, 2018, 10:50 am
- Forum: General Boating Discussion
I know how to anchor. My question lies in how do you secure the deployed anchor to the boat? Obviously the anchor is deployed by the windlass and held fast by the chain gypsy. The gypsy is just a clutch and can move under enough load, Plus I've heard that it is not good the the windlass to have all the boats weight yanking in it at anchor. I've watched a lot of sailing videos over our long winter her up North (there are not that many power boat ones). It seams the popular way to secure the rode ...

Post Carver 366 broken side window fix?
- Posted by: hargsnz » February 16th, 2018, 9:49 pm
- Forum: Carver Yachts Forum - Model Discussion
Left the the folding side window open while docking & smashed it against the end post. Of course it's the other side from the finger. Looking at the the other good side, it looks like the glass fits into a channel & maybe slides out?
Just happened late afternoon today & not really had time to look at it closely. If anyone has had an experience of how easy or not it is to replace, I'd welcome some comments.
We are forecasted to have a cyclone " Gita " passs through in 2-3 days time so I ...
