Post Windlas grease

I recently serviced my Maxwell 1200 windlas. I think I over greased the brass clutch plates as it is not wanting to pull up chain. Does anyone know how much grease should be applied?

Post 356 aux gas tank/ Need to siphone old gas out?

I have owned this 356 for two years now. The old owners owned the boat for five years and told me they never used the aux tank in the rear. That's seven years the aux tank has not been used. The fuel gauge reads less than 1/4 tank. I talked to the original owner of the boat and he told me he used it all the time. Wanted to insure myself nothing was wrong with the tank before I got too carried away.

I want to siphon every bit of fuel out of the tank before I use it. The boat is in the wat ...

Looks like u may have to mount a storage locker either in the cockpit or the swim platform for that stern anchor and rode. Maybe one with a cushion top so it could double as a seating area?

Post '94 390 CPMY MODEL 3937 - GENERATOR MISSING!

Hey everyone, glad I found this forum. Purchased a 94 390 CPMY (3937) a week ago. Lots of questions but I'm learning fast. I got the yacht for a steal knowing that I was going to have to put some dollars into it...That being said 1st owner apparently pulled the generator and did not replace. I've found an Onan Gasoline Fueled 6.5 kw 1800 RPM (rebuilt/warranty) which will be here Saturday, however not quite sure on installing it. Pretty sure fuel line from port tank and wiring is still in the ...

Post Walter V-drive Question

I'm new to this and would like some clarification and info. I have a Walter direct mounted "V" drive. The oil has leaked out. My questions is where do I put more oil in? In the dipstick port? SAE-30 oil? Where should I look for a leak? Where are they prone to fail? Where do I change the oil out when it is time for maintenance?

Thanks for your help.

Post What makes the money spent worth it?

Besides drag racing and aviation I can't think of too many recreational activities that require substantial investment in $ to do like boating does. I know there's lots of arguments either way on that but, that's been my experience.

One of the many things that makes it worth it for me is some things I've been able to see that I may never have gotten the chance to only because I was on a boat at the right place at the right time. For instance, my wife and I were enjoying early morning coffee in a ...
