Post 1977 Carver Santa Cruz Hull Question

Hi Folks,

First post here apart from my intro. Here is the story that leads to the question. I was out at the Carver the other day getting the motor ready. Changed plugs, wires, oil, oil filter. There is a factory battery tray built into the port stern. Previous owner (I have owned about a year) moved the starter battery over to starboard stern partly resting on a 1x4 piece of wood, and partly resting on the fiberglass. I don't know why he did this, I think it was to accommodate starter wi ...

Post 2005 Carver 44 MY Volvo Penta Diesels

I was bring my Carver 44 from the marina I purchased the boat from to my hailing port (70 miles) and had a little problem. The two main fuel tank gauges show a much higher fuel level underway and at about 1/4 tank my port engine started to loose rpm. the engine would lose rpm and then recover, lose rpm and then recover..............

I stopped the boat and when I did, I noticed the port tank was buried empty. I switched over to my aux tanks and problem improved, but definitely DID NOT go away. I b ...

Post generator switch over

I had some work done on my generator and on the weekend the generator started and ran great, but did not provide any power. Is there a switch to change from shore power? This is on our Mariner 350.

Post Starboard bilge blower replacement

Thank goodness my wife is a size 8.

Starboard bilge blower went out.

It's right next to the genny fuel tank, forward of the engine.

No way I could get at it from the engine room.

So from the cabin unscrewed the compartment that hold the shore power / genny relays.

From there I was able to remove the old one.

Of course, the screw holes are different on the new one.

So had to get the wife to climb over the engine and transmission and the two of us were able to get the job done. It's good she's a handy m ...

Post 350 Mariner ice maker on bridge

Hello, all,

Just signed papers on a 2000 350 Mariner this afternoon! Won't be able to splash it for another 2-3 weeks, due to repairs that were discovered at survey, but looking forward to this new adventure. I did have my first (of many, I'm sure) question: has anybody removed the ice maker on the bridge and replaced it with a fridge? If so, where did you get the fridge? Any info is greatly appreciated and have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Post Furniture removal from a 3607

Hope someone has some experience with this... I have a 1988 3607 and I want to take the factory club chair from the salon. It looks like I'll have to remove the stair railing, door and door frame at the very least. Has anyone on the forum done this before? Thanks for your help in advance.

Post New 3607 owner in Ontario

Hello,

I joined this forum a couple of months ago after making an offer on a 1986 3607. The deal finally closed this week, so I guess it's time to introduce myself. Having grown up with runabouts, this is my first cruiser, so I have much to learn. We have 2 young daughters, and I wanted them to enjoy the water before they have to start thinking about summer jobs. The boat is currently on Lake Simcoe, but will be moving to the Kawarthas shortly.

I have already been enjoying the wisdom and ideas ...
