Post Carver 3607 on Great South Bay, NY

Hi, I'm Captain Bill of the Nautical School of Long Island.
Have owned this wonderful 1984 Carver motoryacht boat for 24 years. She has a custom aft-deck hard top with glass and lexan enclosure WITH AN AFT DECK A/C. I am seeking information on a replacement swim platform for her. Otherwise, the boat is perfect for the Great South Bay of Long Island, NY, (where's she's resided for 24 years).

Post Portlight Window Screens

Hi Fellas,

I need to replace all of the portlight mosquito screens. I ordered what I thought would work from Defender.com only to find out that they did not fit once they arrived.

Any ideas on ordering the right sizes? 1987 3227 Convertible. I have heard one guy went to the local hardware store? Do you think they'll make the screens? I've also heard that Bomar is the original manufacturer but upon inspecting their website, they only sell wholesale.

Any help on this topic would be awesome!

Post What should I look at???

Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade from my "cuddy" boat. I would like something 30'-40'. I like the Carver Mariner because it's salon is all one level. A few steps up and a few down. I feel it would be easy to navigate for someone with mobility issues. What other models should I be looking at? I'm not sure of the differences between Flybridge, Sedan Bridge, Convertible, and Sedan boats. Please give me some models to look at.

Post Tobermory Ontario

Just back from 2 weeks holidays on GBay. Spent a week at Tobermory - anyone who is on the bay needs to travel here. Weather was spectacular - despite surfing some 6-10 footers on the way home.

Post Deck crane

Looking for an "affordable" deck crane to lift my seadoo out of the water and set it onto my swim platform. The seadoo is 1000lbs (wet). I am aware of the usual suspects - Nautical Structures, Avant ex Global, etc - but these guys are Maga yacht crane suppliers. I am considering using a local machine shop to fabricate something if I can't locate something "off the shelf". The Voyagers had an optional roof crane as does the Marquis. This crane would only need to lift the 1000lbs 24" out of the ...

Post New Riviera owner

Hello gang,

A couple of weeks ago I closed the deal on a 1983 Riviera that is in wonderful shape. She is a solid and dry boat. Last weekend we made the 4 hour trip home through the Thousand Islands with her. This week we have been outfitting her with the appropriate safety gear, comforts, and doing minor maintenance and cleaning. One engine was running rich, so I just rebuilt the carb and will be reinstalling it Saturday. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and tossing the odd question ...

Post Fuel valves on a '96 Aft Cabin

I am a new member, having purchased a '96 Carver 355 Aft Cabin 3 weeks ago (recently retired after 35 years of chest and cardiac surgery). I'm new to "Big Boating", my only prior experience being a 13' Whaler with a 40 Hp Evenrude.

Learning to drive this thing has been a challenge...

That said, I'm loving the entire experience.

One issue has come up regarding the fuel tanks on my boat. In the buying process, the fuel was turned off to both engines. I topped off both tanks and thought I'd repositio ...
