Post Long Weekend Shakedown cruise

- Forum: Boating & Cruising Lifesyle
We had a 5 boat flotilla for the weekend and left Port Severn at about 3pm on Saturday to spend the night at the Waubic Restaurant. Two Carvers, 2 Regals and a Searay in the flotilla. We went over Big Chute Marine Railway and made our way to the Waubic. Anyone who is up this way or is doing the loop, the Waubic is a must stop. Just be advised, they only have 30a service - so if you are like me with 50A, you will be on the genny for the night.
Up and off early Sunday to go back over the Chute and ...

Post 2001 Carver 396 Aft Cabin Bow Ladder
- Posted by: Lobers » May 24th, 2016, 9:46 am
- Forum: Carver Yachts Forum - Model Discussion
I have a 2001 Carver 396 Aft Cabin and wondering if anyone else out there has put a bow ladder on one of these. This year's model has a 3 rail railing on the bow and it leans outward. Too high to step over. Thought of hinging the top rail but it still leans outward and would still be difficult. Hoping someone has done this with a 2001 and can provide some pointers. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

New member an I have a 2001 410 sportsman, which is the same hull as a 2004 420 mariner with volvo TAMD 63 diesiels. The boat bogs down when you try to get on plane. My 2004 had vents to break the vacuum of the rear platform. my 2001 does not and the boat suffers and bogs down when accelerating. Is there a fix for this or a kit?

Post Nova Kool RFU8000

- Forum: Electrical
Hello All,
I seems that my fridge no longer runs on AC when we are plugged in to shore power. It just continues to run on DC. Not a huge problem better to be this way than opposite.
I am guessing that there must be an AC to DC converter in there. I will have to take it out and start poking around next time up at the boat.
If I am able to isolate problem who would be the Canadian source for parts? Nova Kool (so far) does not seem to be interested enough to respond to my enquiry.
Thanks
Fraser

Thank you

Hi folks, needing to replace a 30A main breaker. The number shown in the manual is 89007-49, but a search turned up nothing. Can anyone provide direction as to where I might locate this? Enjoying the forum, thanks in advance.

Post 18w 24 inch fluroscent fixture front cabin carver 356 aft cabin
- Posted by: cpoint » May 22nd, 2016, 1:23 am
- Forum: Electrical
Hi. I noticed the second switch in front cabin was not doing anything, until I realized there was a 18w 24 inch fluorescent light over the mirror. I thought bulb was burned out, so got a led version of same tube light. This required I bypass the ballast in the fixture. So I did. But it did not work. So I assumed it was bad led tube I got. I hooked everything back and got a 15w 24 inch fluorescent (could not find a 18W at local home depot). I noticed the light slowly started from one end, ...
