Montego electric question

Postby Kman1958 » January 2nd, 2022, 2:13 pm

I have a 1987 foot Montego doing a complete restoration on. A few simple questions on light switches.

I have power to it but interior lights not coming on. Is the salon light switch the switch as you come in the companion walk way to the right of the steps?

In the master there are three switches to the left as you walk in, what do they operate?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Kman

Welcome aboard Kman. Hopefully someone with the same model/year will chime in with the info you need.

I didn't know Carver made a boat that big! 1987' LOL.

I had a 1988 27' montego. For that one the switch coming down the stairs was the courtesy lights in the cabin.
The three switches are probably the over head light, the courtesy lights and the light over the anchor locker. I'm just guessing here.

I would first check all the fuses, then check the light bulbs themselves.

In my 3607, in the salon the lights each had their own switch as well as the switch on the bulkhead. All had to be on for all the lights to be on. You could turn on the bulkhead switch, and just turn off individual lights if you wanted. If someone had turned off the individual lights, the bulkhead switch would not seem like it did anything.

Check the bulbs too. Someone might not have noticed individual bulbs burning out, until they were all burnt and there was no light at all.
