Who should I call?

Plugged into dock electrical. My refrigerator works on the battery only and when I tried to plug its cord into electrical socket it trips my outlet. Should I call an electrician or refrigerator technician?
Now the fridge is the original with boat so its 30+ years old but still would like to get it fixed.

Sounds like the power supply on the fridge. Check for a blown fuse on the power supply, some do have one and may indicate that there is a short in the circuit. Before you go any further, try plugging it into a different outlet but use a decent heavy extension cord, preferably one that is not very long. This would eliminate the possibility of a weak breaker. If it trips the breaker for the different outlet, the issue is at the fridge end.

What kind of fridge? I am in process of swapping out my Norcold DE560 (dead compressor) but all the power supplies still work fine. Make you a good deal if it will help get another season out of it.

I did the same as gmwalley this spring for the same reason. If you need parts I'm a little closer to you. Although if yours was original mine would be a lot newer model.
