Re-wiring a dock box.

I have a 50 amp 125 volt service on my pedestal that I run a marinco y cable from to get two 30 amp connections for the boat. I am thinking about putting two 30 amp inlets on the pedestal and want to use the wiring I have. Is that possible?

It will but I think you have to know the supply amperage. If all you have is 50 amps to the pedestal, all you be able to get is 2-25amp supplies, not 30amps each.

Not sure about your marina, but most would not let you change the pedestal configurations. In the end, the only difference would be that you didn't need to use the y cable. You would have no more or no less power available.

Thanks. I am the “marina owner”. It is at my dock.
I understand the amperage issue. The idea was to get the connection out of the rain. I think have moved on from that and will just put a roof up.
