Hi all,

The DC amps meter on my panel is not working, the needle stays fixed in position at about 30 amps. How to I open the panel to remove the gauge? Where can I buy a replacement?

Thanks,
Barry

Looks like it's hinged at the bottom but to start I would remove the screws around the perimeter of the panel starting at the top and work toward bottom checking as you go before removing the bottom ones to see if it tilts out. The meter may have a manufacturer sticker on the back but if its oem you probably will not find an exact match but probably easy enough to find the same size one.

Hate to say this...
Unplug from shore power and turn off your batteries first.

Check out the measurements on these Barry and compare....
https://www.amazon.com/Analog-Panel-Meter-Current-Ammeter/dp/B00A4TQY02/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=dc+panel+amp+meter&qid=1620992322&sr=8-6

There's also digital units that give you some other useful information. I'm replacing all of my analog meters with digital ones. Some AC ones for example give you hertz which is good to know especially when you're running your generator or you suspect there's a marina or utility problem.

Blue Sea Systems has lots of marine stuff....maybe they will have one to match up with your old.

Barry, you can also contact Carver with your hull number and ask for the panel manufacturer info. They can also supply you with the part number for the panel which will help them narrow down the model. Hopefully the manufacturer still exists or has changed hands and the new owners have kept all the records.

I was at the boat yesterday, the panel is definitely hinged at the bottom. I did not have a chance to work on it but at least I know how to open it!

Thanks again.
