Marquis 59 - location of windlass solenoid

Postby Perspective » September 18th, 2022, 7:12 pm

Another afternoon crawling through the boat looking for the windlass solenoids. I can, of course, trace the foot switch wires and the power to the windlass motor that go through the bulkhead from the forward bow deck locker and head aft. From there, I cannot figure out where they go - one would think they would be close to the windlass to shorten the length of the high amperage motor cables. Does anybody know where the windlass solenoid is located? I am trying to install my new AutoAnchor chain counter AA570 unit to the Maxwell 3500 windlass. The solenoid is also something that can fail (and the manual says it is fused somewhere forward too) and I should know where both of those are.
