Circuit dropped but breaker did not trip

Out yesterday on 1986 Carver Aft Cabin. Running generator (Kohler) that has 2 30 amp circuits. One has two ac units on it and nothing else. Running both AC units and all of a sudden they both quit. Checked panel and loss of voltage on that circuit but breaker did not trip. panel seemed fairly warm to touch. Let it cool off for a bit and tried resetting breaker and no voltage still. Once I got back to house hooked shore power up and circuit and ac units work fine. Is this a breaker issue or a generator issue? Thanks.

Your generator only puts out 30 amps total, your boat has that split into two sides ( still only 30amps total ), one for the ac and the other for house loads. When the power went off did you have 120vac power on the house side ? sounds like a generator overload, maybe there was an appliance on and both AC units at the same time, easily done.
Check the breaker on the generator itself if you do not have any power from the gen. ( either side ).

How does it switch the power from using the generator to using shore power? Is that automatic or is there a manual switch. You might have to open things up and look for loose/corroded connections on the AC lines going to that panel.
And panels should not get "warm to the touch" just by using power. That's a big red flag that something needs attention.
