Stove Top

Postby mjmason1 » May 9th, 2021, 10:47 pm

Our 3 burner Princess stove decided enough is enough. Well, after 21 years they don't male the same stove anymore. Every stove I could find would fall through the cutout. So, I had an aluminum plate made and powder coated. Then we got a 2 burner induction stove top from Lowes. I cut the middle out of the plate and dropped the stove in. I works very well.

Looks great!

An induction stove is the best thing since sliced bread on a boat where we are limited to 15a 110v circuits in most applications. Did this over 15 years ago in my previous boat and never looked back. One of my priority projects when I first got the Carver however in my case I was able to find a unit slightly larger and needed to cut out the Corian counter top, talk about dust mess :-O Made a makeshift plastic tent and my wife holding the shopvac in front of my jigsaw and just went at it. Worked very well by the way.

Looks great! That's on my list of projects. One day I'll get to that one.
