Trying to remove the port side windows in the cabin to rebed them. Any tips and tricks? It’s been a pain so far.

Are you pulling just the glass or the entire aluminum frame? Do you know how to remove the glass?

I have a 390 and would like to hear how to remove the glass so I can replace the cat whiskers.

You shouldn't have to pull the windows to replace the schlagle. There's an alternative that snaps into the track.

I just did this on a couple of my windows. When you start pulling the old stuff out, it slides along the track. Snap the new stuff in a few inches at a time and slide back into place sliding alongside the window until it gets all the way to the end of the frame.

I was surprised at how much dirt and "gunk" was packed underneath the old whiskers/pile. It took some scrubbing to get all that out but the drains now work significantly better than before - no wonder!!

Clogged/dirty drains is one of the major reasons for leaking windows.....good catch.

I just redid my windows that were leaking like niagara falls when it rained. I only had to do starboard side. It took me two weeks but I only had a few hours each weekend so daily it could have been a weekend project. The entire board under the window was rotted away. We removed the outer trim in the salon and then used a multi-tool to cut out all the bad wood. We had mag. cut for the two pieces of rotten wood. We sealed everything with a petit wood sealer. then we used 4400 and installed both pieces. After that we screwed everything back in dealing with 4400 a we go. It’s been a raining summer and we have stayed bone dry.

So do I understand correctly that the windows are sandwiched between an inner and an outer aluminum frame. And that you need to remove the frame to take the windows out?

I have the choice to scratch the small crack between frame and hull and then caulk it up. But if taking the farme out is do-able, then I could caulk it up correctly.

Although I'd probably unearth a whole new snake pit of neglected work.....
