New Sewing Machine

So, we bit the bullet and purchased a new sewing machine for the boat. Projects this summer will hopefully be redoing the banquette and some zipper extenders for the bimini. Purchased an Omega walking foot. They are Canadian based (yeah) and significantly less expensive than the SailRite. Looks to be the same machine, as they all do. After some "technical" difficulties, got the first project done. It isn't pretty and it isn't perfect but I am pleased with it. I can only improve from here!!

Don't know why the first one came out upside down.

You'll find all kinds of stuff to make and when your boat neighbors find out,, look out.

Thanks for the heads up on the Omega! I have been looking at the Sailrite machines to do a couple projects and an Omega might just do the trick for less.

I have joined a "Sewing on Boats" facebook page. Lots of folks there will use older Singers, Phaff, Viking machines. It depends on how many layers you are wanting to sew through.

I have the SailRite fabricatror, just made a new bimini top for my 350 Mariner. Test fit tomorrow and then the enclosure is next. Did the bolsters on the aft deck and a new seat for up front.
