530 winter work

Postby aussie530carver » October 9th, 2022, 5:23 pm

Hi all i have been very busy over the winter months on my 1999 530 after taking the boat out of the water we noticed the boat had a lot of osmosis so this begun an epic project... all cancer was ground out then fibreglassed and the re Antifouled at this time i decided to add a stern thruster and also new underwater lights . i stumbled across a high low platform a guy had remover from his 540 Sea Ray so i had it modified to fit the shape of the Carver hull and had to fabricate new mounting boxes to attach it to the transom and the existing platform this was a mammoth job but it is nearly completed . I am also in the process of adding a Copilot yacht controller type system i purchase from another member... will add more pictures as we go along .. safe boating from Melbourne Australia

Yep sure does look like a heck of a lot of work. What may I ask is a high low platform? Never seen anything like that before.
Cheers, Hans
