Hello from Florida

Postby byresch » January 24th, 2017, 5:54 pm

We are currently looking for a new boat and have found 2 466s for sale around Fort Myers, FL. I like the 466 because a friend in San Diego has one and I love that yacht.

Our boating background is a Starcraft 42 foot houseboat, a 42 foot Jeanneau Sun Odessey, a 45 foot Columbia motorsailor, and a 48 foot Chris Craft Roamer. We can not do the sailing anymore, we do not want a project boat.

We would like a boat that will do for week-ends and cruising the islands in the Caribbean. We are wondering if the 466 is capable of island hopping in the Caribbean. Any input will be welcome.

Sweet Boat! Welcome. Hope someone can answer your island hopping question in that model. I's like to know too. Going down in March to Fort Myers myself, going to be looking around for our floating winter home, so save us one! LOL Mike

Welcome!

We had an offer in on a 466 in Ohio but ultimately pulled out due to a bad survey. We then stumbled upon the 506 and preferred the enclosed pilot house with no canvas and the full 3rd stateroom. Other than than the boats are very similar. If the survey had been clean, my email would certainly be different as we loved the 466!

I answered your island hopping questions on your other post.

I thank all who posted on here. It has been years since I posted due to health reasons for my wife and for me. I don't know if we will ever buy the Carver we'd like but hopefully someday we shall both have good health again and be able to.

We all hope that your health will improve enough for you to get back on to the waterways. Best of luck as you move forward.
