I have one as well. Seems the drain from inside of the floor of the cabin is clogged. Seems to be a similar grey water drain. Any idea on how to unclog?

Did you try sticking a wet/dry vac hose on either end to see if that will suck out whatever was in there?

We just got out first boat!! It's a 1977 Carver Camper 2276. Where can I get an owner's manual? I have searched online and haven't found one yet.

I have a bunch of really dumb newbie questions I am trying to find the answers to, along with just learning more about our boat.

How do we drain the gray water? I don't know all of the switches on the control panel. Some are pretty self explanatory, some are not, at least not for a brand new boat owner like us. It is still sitting in our front yard, until we learn everything about it, then onto the water we go. Why are there 2 water fill ports? One on the bow and one on the starboard side? And more.

Thanks for any assistance!

Trent & Wendi

Good Morning
Looks like it has been 7 yrs since you started this post. What have you found?

Good Morning
I am still going through mine. It looks like the fill for fresh water is on the bow and then goes to a tank under the v-berth. Does anyone know if this is correct? The hose/tubing is missing from the bow filler to what looks like is the tank under the berth. Any photos anyone has would help.

Don't know if this discussion is still open, but will answer it anyway.
The water fill plate is in the center of the bow deck, just inside of the break in the toe rail. It should be marked "Water"
There should be a hose connection that you can see if you look through the V shaped opening in the bulkhead at the front of the berth. The water tank is moulded in as part of the hull. If you look forward through the square opening in the center of the birth ( it should have a plywood cover) you will be able to see the water tank. It will look like part of the hull. There should be a hose Barb sticking out at the bottom, Or a hole where one previously was. If just a hole, you'll need to epoxy a new barb in place. I believe the original water line was 5/8" garden hose? The hose ran about15" to a "tee" hoses than ran to the hand pumps on both sinks. The sinks simply drain overboard through fitting in the hull sides.
We have owned our 2276 for 49 years( purchased new in 1976) and are quite familiar with everything about them. I can probably answer any of your questions
