Hello all. My name is Bill and I currently don't own a Carver but am looking at a Santego 3067. Joined to find out as much information as I can before committing to purchase. The owner says the boat needs to be completely re-powered, so that is my hesitation. So, if anyone has stories/opinions of early '90s Santego, I would appreciate hearing them.
Thanks in advance;
Bill

Have you researched repowering costs?
What else does it need?
I think I'd walk away unless you are getting it for a couple of thousand dollars.
After you repower it, what is it worth?
Repowering it does not add that much to nada price
Thanks

The price is attractive. Yes I have investigated re-powering the vessel with manufactured and re-manufactured engines and out drives. The boat has the 350 cid volvo engines and out drives; engines missing the risers and manifolds.
For me, re-powering with additional equipment would be a last resort, as I believe the only known problem is it has set for a couple of years, and I can and have rebuilt motors ans out drives in the past.
Thanks for the reply;

If you can do it yourself and the price is right you can do good.
We did. Redid everything but the drive line which was in great shape with only 260 or so hours on them.
Good luck and if you do get it, please keep a diary with pictures here. We all love projects!
Thanks
