Hello Carver Team!
I am the original owner of a 2015 Carver C40. Prior to that, I had a C34 ....
I have worked my way thru quite a few 'post warranty' issues over the years (and still running into them routinely .
Looking forward to the forums!
Dennis

Re: Hello Carver Team!
First, let me say we loved the C34 and love our C40 even more. However, like all boats there was some breaking in to endure.
Both had leaks from Day 1 that originated at the rub rails and seals in the outer stairwell. Took us awhile to figure it out on the C34 ..... so when the C40 started to leak after a good relain, we just had the entire rub rail and outer seals pulled and recaulked.
Both also had electrical problems.
The C34 had grounding issues, fried a DC breaker, and smoked a relay switch and junction box behind the refrigerator.
The C40 also had grounding issues ..... bad enough that we couldn’t even run the windlass without losing power to the helm. We lost both DVD players on this one, one of the A/C units, 2 engine room blowers, and random GFCI popping from time to time. The last gremlin we are chasing seems to be the ProIso SmartCharge unit. It just doesn’t seem to work as we are on our 3rd set of house batteries after they’ve drained to 0 over and over again. Several mechanics have taken a look and either fixed if for the time being ..... or given up. Hoping to find some gurus out there to help sort thru that one.
I know it may sound like a LOT of problems ..... but we really enjoy her and spend more time enjoying than repairing. Handing is awesome - smooth, comfortable and responsive for the size. In addition to weekend trips, we do a 2-3 week trip to Port Aransas every year and stay aboard the entire time.
