I believe Galahad in NorthEast MD has a 390 for sale. Im pretty sure its the same as a 404 only a few years older.

Thank you Tom, looks like it was well maintained. I should have mentioned that we want diesel.

Good luck with that. You wont find very many diesels on the bay under 45- 50'. They just weren't big sellers due to the extra cost and the relatively short cruising ranges people were looking for.

let us know how you make out.

Please don't think i meant that last post to sound snarky. There were just not a lot of mid range diesels sold on the bay, especially north of VA.
McDaniels in Northeast MD was the biggest Carver dealer on the east coast for years, and they stocked what they could sell quickly. Diesels put boats like the 355, 390, 404 405 above the 400k mark and pushing 500+. They quickly learned most people would op for the biggest boat they could get at the lowest price and they liked a lot of options, but comfort options. So most diesels were special order making them few and far between.

Not sure how close the 404 is to the 444, but here is one of those with diesels:

No not snarky. I appreciate honest advice and especially the back lot history. I wasn't aware deisel was so rare. We love the layout of the 404 finding one in decent condition with deisel may be a challenge. Appreciate the advice.
