Hello everyone. Recently purchased a 3027 Flybridge and love it. I moved it a couple weeks ago and lost port motor coming down due to bad fuel. Made it fortunately without tow. Had the bottom looked at this morning and was told my port rudder is missing. Well this is a problem. Found a company in fort lauderdale that has rudders but need dimensions. Anyone know what they are for the year. Or where to get one. Has twin crusaders. If that matters
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would call Carver customer service on this one - they probably have the drawing for the original. A missing rudder is an oddball situation for sure! So the shaft is still there but the rudder plate came off, or did the rudder break off?

Shaft is still there. Guys said there are two bolt holes there. Assuming they backed out and rudder fell off.

Welcome........unless someone can say different....I am not sure about bolt on rudders...I think a haul out to see what is going on there and check the other side may be prudent.

I agree with contacting Carver, hopefully they'll still have the records going that far back. Failing that, a simple measurement isn't good enough in my opinion. I would remove the other rudder and take it to a prop shop. They may have something comparable that will suffice or make some calls to industry partners. They may also be able to deal with their foundry contacts to duplicate an exact replacement as a last resort.
Another idea would be to take the existing rudder with you to a salvage yard like Marine Connection Liquidators. I'm pretty sure I remember a whole section or rudders last time I was there....

wow that is a great salvage yard! I wish I could have a good time in there to collect stuff to match our 1992 Carver. Breaker panels, switches and interior parts.

I would definitely want to pull the boat and look at the other rudder before ordering any replacement.
I thought most rudders were one piece of cast bronze, not bolted to a shaft, I guess there are many different designs out there.

This thread has made me aware of and I will take a good long look at my rudders while still out on the hard before launch. Hope to find no issues with mine.
