Welcome aboard!
40 footer for a first boat! Do yourself a favor, attend United States Piwer Squadron lessons. Not just the basic first coarse. You have a lot to learn.

Welcome, a great boat indeed. Although, I may be a bit biased owning a 1999 406.

Welcome to the forum and Carver.....I agree with waybomb....that is a lot of first boat , also consider hiring a captain to walk you thru safe operating and practices.....good luck with your adventures and be safe.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: New Carver Owner 2002 406
Thanks everyone. I may wear you out with questions, lol.
It may be my first boat, but not that I have no experience. I grew up on Lake Huron with plenty of experience operating my dads boats. 6 years active US Navy. Member of Sailing club U S Fla. That said, I am not foolish enough to think I don't need some help. I have hired a Captain and have spent 4 days with him. I will be joining local Power squadron and taking courses. I have taken BoaatUS Boating Safety course. So yeah, I get it, its a big first boat, but I am taking the steps needed to be safe.
Thanks for your comments. I don't plan on taking it out until I have some maintenance completed. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
Many questions coming

First question. AC Strainers. Is there only one for both units? I found one under the deck in the forward bilge area. Is there another?
