Things are going well. They have accepted my offer but it’s contingent on me selling my 350. Got it listed... got my fingers crossed... :captain2:

Well, the dust has settled and I have taken possession of my 396! I'm still pinching myself with all the room my family has... of course the real pinch is the payment I now have to make! hahahahah!

I have a 2000 396 AC. The roominess is great and we love the boat. Good luck and enjoy!

Ok, after a couple of weeks, give us an update. Still think you need a bow thruster? My guess...no. Are you ok with old style controls? Happy with speed and economy?

Thanks Buster53! So many things to love!

Thruster- well, still would love to have one, but it’s just because I think it would be cool! Have had not issue controlling her but also have been selective when I take it out. Windy days, I stay at port!

Controls - took about 1 minute to adapt and I will never go back. Love how when you click it into gear it grabs and you simply feel it now! Also love how when your even coasting in the marina you can still have some rudder effectivity. Or I guess I should say I seem to have more... it truly seems more maneuverable than my smaller 350 (shhhh. Don’t tell her! I still love the old Mariner!)

Have not done any big trips so am sorry to say I have not tested her economy. I usually end up being pretty detailed with my operation so as I build some Data I’ll be sure to share it!

In general... I absolutely love the new girl! Almost feel like I’m cheating on my old Mariner that I loved... but this girls maneuvering, and space has really stolen me.
