If they plan to keep the Carver / Marquis name, they would most likely honor the warranties. If they want to keep the names and not honor the warranties, they may not produce boats under those names for a few years, and then resurrect the names. Many manufactures have done this, including Carver with the Trojan name.

Interesting, wow, in that case, what would happen to the new boats sitting on the assembly line/dealers, maybe sold maybe pending. That may be quite the negotiation.....

Good Morning All! Well, there you have it. But again, do not over react. The bad news is the Carver brand will most likely not continue. The buyer is an old friend and is very focused on customer service and quality production. There is no way he will turn his back on Carver owners, as he knows what the value those owners represent in terms of current and future business, and he is just not cut from that piece of wood. To give you an idea of what kind of person he is, the most compelling reason he bought Cruisers in 1994, was to put the local population back to work. He is originally from Oconto, and raised Cruisers from the ashes of their demise. He is simply a good man, and understands relationships and loyalty. I firmly believe they will continue in the support of Carver owners, providing the same resource we have all enjoyed for years. With KC's guidance, this move will be a win-win for both sides. While the marine industry can be cut throat at times, KC is as honorable of a man you can find. He is another Gary Comer, the person who founded and built the Lands' End brand. 8-) er

Problem is Cruisers builds ugly yachts. :-D Sad to see the Carver name disappear, I am glad I own a piece of American, built with pride and a very well built yacht on top of that. Like they say, "shit happens"

Sad to see Carver brand go, but do not be surprised if Cruisers is thinking of some sort of design influenced by Carver style. After all, they have a lot of molds to play with. Those molds are valuable. If I try to imagine what could have happened, who could have bought them,....this is by far the best result. People working there will be same local craftsmen/women, who built the company. That culture, work ethic, caring characteristic stays with them. They are really the heart & soul of the product. I think they should build a Cruisers/Carver hybrid and provide one to me to perform market research. 8-) er

Sad news for sure. That's business. Let's see and hope for the best results for the company and employees.

Sorry for the long URL. Any speculation on what this means now? Was the Cruisers acquisition simply a flip, or do we think the Carver/Marquis brand is still gone with Marine Max buying Cruisers?
