Hey All,

Just thought I'd let you know, I found the USCG # in a storage bin on the transom. I sent in my documentation so I am just using the WI sticker on the back and no reg #'s on the outside hull. Cool! Thanks for all the help. And yes...I kept the name and the hailing port as Superior, even though I am in Sheboygan.
Thanks,
Steve

When we berthed in Port Washington, we went across to the sandy side for a couple of weeks. We were in South Haven, leaving through the channel. There's Coasty directly behind us, minding his own business.

Inbound is the local yokal water cops in a twin outboard something or other. They pass us, and crank their throttles up and turn around right in the middle of a busy Saturday afternoon traffic. Everybody around them had to react to their actions. Like, wher am I going to go in a 42 Carver? Outrun them?

They want me to pull over along the steel breakwall with all the traffic! I was on the radio - "No Way guys, we can go out to the lake." They were insisting I pull over. I essentially ask them what do they want and repeated that I am not going to stop in the channel?

Well my boat has no numbers on the bow nor registration stickers since we were from Wisconsin. The Coasties listening to this are looking at me while I glance at them and they just laugh and lift their arms as in "I surrender".

They see I'm from Wisconsin because of the tags at the platform. My wife sticks her head out the side and points to the rear. I yell "Wisconsin" into the mic. They left. The Coasties give me the circular-motion-about-the-ear-with-finger gesture.
Thanks
Fred

That's funny. So then you left on your merry way and all was good?
Thanks,
Steve

Yup, and the Coasties zoomed on by, waving as they passed us out of the channel.
I spent alot of time on the Michigan side with the 42, and never ever had any issue until that one time.
Thanks
