Ready--------Set--------Launch
There she is sitting in the slings waiting for my 4 PM Wednesday appointment to launch. They look so much bigger out of the water.
There she is edging ever so slowly towards the water.
Splashdown, let the season begin.
Once she was in the water I tried to start her up. No, go just a clicking sound. I tried jumping the battery still no go, click,c lick, click. I connected my battery charger to the forward battery. Within a few seconds it showed a full charge. I pulled the aft battery, what a bear to get at. I let it charge for 1/2 hour, no advance on the chargers light bar. It was a NAPA battery so I headed off to the local NAPA store. I had the guy test the battery and it was stone cold dead. I wanted to get 2 of them even though the forward battery showed a full charge but they only had 1 in stock. $98 dollars later I walked out with a new battery a Group 24. That is what the old battery was. I was in no mood to try to muscle in a Group 27 or 29 battery into that aft slot. No way.
I got back to the boat and installed the new battery. I hit the ignition key to the port engine. It fired right up. Then I fired of the starboard engine. I let them warm up for about 10 minutes then I pulled away from the launch area. I was fortunate that there was no one with an appointment to launch after me. I headed down the channel and out into Lake Erie. I wanted to run the boat for 20 minutes or so. I throttled up to WOT and both engines maxed out at 4200 RPM. After a short WOT run I throttled back and turned back towards Bolles Harbor. I then motored back towards Trouts Yacht Basin my summer home. I got safely into my dock and tied off the lines. I hooked up to the shore power and thought, lets begin the season.
I did some puttering around in the boat. I flushed out most of the pink stuff. I will finish that later today. Turned on the A/C and enjoyed the cool inside temperatures. I did drive over to Monroe Boat Club for a couple of Rum and Cokes before heading back to the boat where I am spending the night. I was not sure if I was staying or going back home. But, what the heck, I decided to stay aboard.
At my summer dock.

Re: Ready--------Set--------Launch
We have had no real problems this year so far, hope to see you out this year. My Jurisdiction mostly stays north on Lake Huron, but we are hopefully to make a trip south to Lake St. Clair.
