Winterizing The Coffee Machine?

Postby Midnightsun » June 17th, 2019, 4:50 am

Odd topic this time of year however worth mentioning.

Got a fancy Nespresso Vertuo Plus coffee machine for the boat last year. Found out the hard way you cannot leave them in freezing weather as the steam chamber is always full of water so it will burst during the winter. Had to unnecessarily plop down $200 to replace it and that was on sale!

Just a heads up to others to remove it from the boat as part of winter storage. ;-)

Maybe I should clarify and say any capsule style coffee machine cannot be left out in the cold. ;-)
