Hello, everyone, I am new here and recently bought a 2003 carver 350 mariner, may I have two questions:
1. How deep can the anchor goes?
2. Should I pump out the waste? How do I know when I should do this?
Thanks!

The anchor depth will depend on how much rode you have. You might want to extend it all the way at the dock once and actually measure what you have. Is it all chain, all rope or some combination? What ever it came with from the factory could have been modified by any previous owner, so you need to check yourself to be sure. Also make sure that there is a block at the end of the rode or that it's tied to something inside the locker so there's no way to lose it if extended all the way out.

On the waste, you have to get an idea of how much you actually use it. Never rely just on the waste tank indicator (if you even have one) as they can get stuck and show it's not full when it really is. You should always get it pumped out initially because you have no way of knowing what's in there. If you find it in the bilge, you might get some idea by shining a bright light through it and see where the current level is. I know some folks who pump out weekly and others who just pump out after a "busy" weekend on the boat. Your mileage will vary.
