what weather reporting system do you use
A fair question considering some interesting forecasts lately.I really don't know what is more accurate in Canada at this time since I think everything comes from environment Canada but maybe there is. For the last 15 years or so going to Florida , I have found NOAA to be very accurate............

Re: what weather reporting system do you use
Weather Underground is my most used source but I also listen to the vhf wx channel.

I use The Weather Channel. Somewhat accurate. I also use NOAA, Accuweather, Intellicast and a couple other sites. One can never have to much weather related information when it comes to boating.

Re: what weather reporting system do you use
Seriously, or was that sarcasm font??
I'd stay away from TWC unless I was looking for a hurricane forecast. I've found them to be terrible for any realistic short term forecast. I do use intellicast, myradar and rainy days.
I have found though that some of the radar apps have a delay sometimes. I've seen a front go right over head but watch on the radar apps and see it trailing behind 10 miles or so. Would be nice if there was some way to know that when you're viewing the app screen.

Like Rick I use many different sources to determine weather conditions and forecast. I also look at weather bouys. I have found NOAA to be quite accurate. I just got done with a 30 day cruise where I moved 40 to 60 miles every couple days. NOAA and local weather bouys seem best.

Re: what weather reporting system do you use
I've used the weatherbug app on my iPhone for years. Free (w/ads). Reasonably accurate forecasts of weather and wind speed and direction of about 48 hours or so. Radar has about an hour cycle with a ten minute lag. Pretty much sufficient for the Northeast Inland waters I'm on.

If you want a good app for wind speeds and direction try SailFlow. Great app.
