Winter Solstice Finally Here
Happy Dec. 21 everybody from the 44.51 parallel. While this may not be accurate from your perspective, I consider this day the hump to get over to look forward to boating season, instead of looking back, putting more distance astern. After today, we will gain sunlight each day. Sometimes by seconds, some by minutes. Sunlight today is 8hrs 49 min. In 6 months, we will gain 6 hours 45 seconds. It's time to spin that wheel, turn boating minds 180 degrees, and head back to port, and start singing Creola. I can almost feel the warm, wispy sea breeze. Finally, just so there is a sense of reality to this message, winds on the bay today are N 30mph, with occasional 35mph gale gusts. Waves 3' to 6', water temp of 34.

Re: Winter Solstice Finally Here
My boat is named after my origins where my parents were born in northern Sweden or as sometimes referred to the land of the Midnight Sun. I was also born in Sweden however in Stockholm which is quite some distance south. Right now in the north the sun rises at 10AM and sets at 1PM. Talk about a short day! Then again the summers get the Midnight Sun.
Yep, hump day it is and on our way to a new launch and new adventures in 2019.

Re: Winter Solstice Finally Here
Used to fly to Stockholm a lot. Coming home to ORD depending on the North Atlantic Track routing (NAT TRACKS) you would see the sun rise twice in one day. One of my favorite layovers!!
Thank you for the help!
