Boat fire

Postby bud37 » October 12th, 2020, 11:33 am

According to the local paper, they had an electrical problem while heading across Simcoe. Another reminder to have all your safety gear , jackets, escape plan and learn how to use an extinguisher properly.
Not saying these poor folk did anything wrong at all, just a reminder.....they were rescued from the lake by a passing boater, a little cold but otherwise ok.

There seems to have been a few boat fires this year.

The above is strictly my opinion.

The above boat was from our marina. A big Regal diesel express. The owner still doesn't know what happened. They were underway when smoke starting coming from the engine room.

Very scary!!
Couple years ago the guy on his live aboard at our marina made the mistake of putting an aluminum dish in the microwave , and leaving the inside of the boat. Within minutes the boat was ablaze and the heat also took out the boat on each side of it. When cooking anything always remain near.

Another boat fire in a Georgian Bay marina yesterday. Don't know the details yet.
