Voyager 370 engine removal?
Dumb question, but how does one remove the engines to service them? Even if one could get a hoist into the salon, It doesn't look like there is enough clearance to take them out of the main hatch.

Re: Voyager 370 engine removal?
The Port engine will come out if the plywood in front of the galley sink floor is removed ( plywood is cut and screwed to Aluminum floor joist ) then remove the aluminum floor joist which is bolted in .
The Starboard engine is a little more work . Have to remove the aft dinette seat cabinet . Not difficult , it screws together with small aluminum angles in the inside corners .
Once the seat cabinet is removed the plywood floor needs to be cut just aft and parallel to the aluminum joist that was under the seat , it's about a 20" cut . Then the rest of the plywood can be removed by unscrewing it from the aluminum floor joist . This allows the entire aluminum frame over the engine to be unbolted and removed . What is left are the two parallel aluminum main joists than run fore and aft between the engines .
I the built a hoisting frame out of wood 4x4 posts and 4x6 beam . I centered it over the carburators and attached the hoist to lifting plates that attached to the manifold carb bolts .
I laid 3/4" plywood on top of the main floor joist.
Plenty of room to hoist the engines . Once an engine was up , I attached another hoist from the other side and between lifting with the second hoist and backing off on the lifting hoist. I drifted the engines to amid ship and landed it on the plywood between the engines on the main floor joist .
With the engines stripped of accessories including risers and manifolds , it fit between the Port side sink/ galley cabinet and the Starboard side Electrical Panel cabinet .
Then placed a 2x12 plank between the top step going into the galley/dinette area and sloped it to the rear Salon slider door .
Slid the engines on to the plank and down to the door , one in front of the other .
The Boat Yard's forklift and stinger fit through the door and lifted them out and into my truck bed .
Installation will be just the reverse .
