Carver 444 exhaust problems

I realize this is an old thread, but does anyone have any knowledge about how to best access the starboard muffler? We have a 396 which is basically the same layout, and it looks like I have to completely disassemble the aft stateroom sink/counter area to access the muffler. Definitely doable, but would appreciate any advice if someone else has tackled or been through this issue.
